This on-going, multi-phased complex for the North American headquarters for Adidas, the world's second largest sporting goods company, has been a work in progress since 1999.
The Adidas Village, as it is called, is located 5 minutes from downtown Portland in an area undergoing a program of urban renewal. The 484,000 square feet campus, consists of a renovated hospital, parking facility and new construction. In Phase I, 700 employees moved into buildings that used to be the hospital. Snyder and other workers must accommodate the Adidas employees working in the occupied building while trying to efficiently complete the remaining work on the new construction in a timely manner. The three newly constructed buildings across the street will house an additional 300 employees and a fitness facility.
Snyder's role has included repairs on the old hospital building, roofing and waterproofing the three new buildings and waterproofing the parking structure. One of the most unusual elements of this project for Snyder has been providing enough waterproofing and barriers to contain the soccer field that caps the parking lot.
