Oregon State Capitol - Salem, Oregon
Snyder Roofing was the General Contractor for the roof replacement at the Oregon State Capitol. Architect Four, of Salem, was the designer for the project. They specified: a tapered Johns Manville SBS modified roof system, complete replacement of the stainless steel metal flashing system, and replacement of some drains to aid in drainage. Snyder used a specially formulated low-fuming asphalt and an extensive protection system for the HVAC intake system to minimize the impact to the building occupants. Skylights located over both grand staircases were replaced with scheduling worked around the daily tours of the Capitol. Work on the project was completed with an aggressive schedule - to avoid construction while Oregon Legislature was in session, and to keep the project from extending into the wet Oregon fall and winter.
