Snyder Roofing of Oregon LLC has taken the lead when it comes to sustainable building in the roofing industry. For decades we have been assisting our clients with reflective roofing and installing vegetated plazas that reduce outdoor air temperatures and the resulting urban heat island effect. Last year, we launched Northwest Solar Solutions. Our newest member of the Snyder Roofing family of companies specializes in building integrated solar solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional properties.

In addition to what we're doing in the marketplace, we are also committed to reducing our environmental impact within our own office. The "Snyder Green Team" is dedicated to promoting waste reduction, recycling, and responsible purchasing at Snyder Roofing. We have just completed an in-house recycling center, and an educational wall that will serve as a source of information on the subject of "Living Green" for our employees. We're also proud to announce the completion of our very own rooftop solar array. The 17kW system produces enough electricity to offset power used by Northwest Solar Solutions LLC. Since the system was installed in July 2008, we have avoided the use of over 41,369lbs. of greenhouse gases, which is the equivalent of replacing 2,507 trees.

One of the ways we stay on top of sustainability is by taking advantage of the exclusive benefits and training resources offered to us through membership associations like the Energy Trust of Oregon. We believe that training and education are the most effective ways of increasing productivity and safety and the key to remaining competitive in our industry.
